This is a scarce vintage CASE XX knife roll. Leather exterior and straps, cloth interior. I do not know whether this is an original sample roll used by a Case sales representative, or if it was made for the collector market. The roll does have the CASE XX logo, so it was authorized by Case.
I estimate the vintage to be 1950s to 70s. The roll is 56 inches long when fully unrolled.
The width of the roll (not counting the flaps) is 11 inches. There are slots for a total of 80 pocketknives of various sizes (two rows of 40 knives per row). I have examined each of the elastic loops carefully there is only one (1) elastic in the entire roll that has come unstitched from the cloth backing.I have this one elastic marked with a twist-tie (see photos). Overall, the roll is in excellent used condition normal minor soiling to the interior. A very rare original roll, great to display and carry a load of Case pocket knives. The knife shown in the photos is the exact knife that you will receive.
See my other listings for more collectible knives. Any knives listed as having BONE handles have handles made of Bovine bone from the South American Zebu cattle. Any knives listed as having STAG handles have handles made of Sambar deer antler - naturally shed.
