They show wear and tear with some cracks, broken corners, etc. I never used them for display and, frankly, they don't look very attractive. You can make it out sitting in the bottom of the case in the photos; it can be positioned at whatever height you want. The case lights up with two fluorescent bulbs tucked into the front-top to shine on whatever is displayed inside. One of the bulbs flickers when plugged in, but ultimately works and stays lit; you may want to replace it.
The PlayStation branding is on metal grating, and the X-Men graphics you see in the upper left are those re-stickable window things, so they'll peel right off and not leave a mark. There is an original Nintendo 64 Diddy Kong Racing poster on one side. This was there when I acquired it, and I never pulled it off. I assume it will come off with no issue and that there isn't a Banksy or treasure map underneath, but I don't know for sure. It was an in-store retail display unit, and employees treated it as such.
It has some blemishes, mostly on the sides and back, but the front looks really good, and that's what matters. It is located in Central Pennsylvania -- Lewistown, PA 17044 to be specific. It is a short detour off of 322 between Harrisburg and State College. If this isn't something you can manage, I can't help you. In the late 1990s my stepfather worked at store chain that went bankrupt. Over the years, I've occasionally searched for similar items and have found much smaller displays for games that had the same branding, but never another full display case of similar size or quality. I've concluded that it must be a very rare survivor. When I acquired this I was in high school and certainly didn't know much about nationwide retail, marketing, and brand management, but, post-college, I've managed some brands and have been involved in sourcing and distributing branded displays and fixtures to major retailers. Knowing all of that pretty much fills in the gaps in this particular item's story. Please let me know if you have any questions. The item "Original Sony PlayStation Retail Display Case.
